"This is the duty of our generation as we enter the twenty-first century—solidarity with the weak, the persecuted, the lonely, the sick, and those in despair. It is expressed by the desire to give a noble and humanizing meaning to a community in which all members will define themselves not by their own identity but by that of others." Elie Weisel
"On behalf of our Executive Director and our Board of Directors, I want to thank you for the food drive that you organized at Shaw's this past month. Our Neighbors' Table is so grateful for all that you do for us, including the food drives. As you know, this is a time of year when all of the pantries struggle to keep food on the shelves, and we are so appreciative of all of your efforts. Please send our thanks to the volunteers who organized this event and also to the volunteers who worked all weekend at Shaws. We are very grateful."
Joan Bukoskey, Assistant Director, Our Neighbors' Table
"The board of directors and staff of Community Service of Newburyport, Inc. would like to thank you for the wonderful donation of food from the Shaw's food drive. We are very grateful to the volunteers who helped make this possible, especially Fran Larkin who delivered the food to our office and helped us carry it up a flight of stairs. It is wonderful to see our pantry shelves so well stocked! Thank you so much."
Betty Leary and Martha Arias

"Haley's Ride Ins success is purely a reflection of the spirit of your cause; and validation of your efforts on behalf of less fortunate people. Thank you !"

"This grant will enable us to reach 20-25 youth between the ages of 6 and 16 who might not otherwise access our youth programs. Our success in the community is dependent on the strong collaborative relationships with groups such as yours that have a strong commitment to the residents in Newburyport living in poverty."
Ellie Davis, Director of Programs and Community Relations, YWCA, July 2010
"The members and residents of The Kelleher Park are delightfully thrilled and eternally grateful to Pennies for Poverty: 2 Cents 4 Change. The Kelleher Park Tenants Council was formed earlier this year as a way for tenants of Kelleher Park to participate and have a voice in the way their community is run. The council seeks to collaborate with The Newburyport Housing Authority to bring about positive changes not only to the buildings and grounds but as away for tenants to become active in the governing process and to bring about a sense of community and respect for all. With this source of funding we plan to create a community center that is open to residents for creative activities and social events in addition to being a meeting place. On behalf of the council I would like to thank Pennies for Poverty: 2 Cents 4 Change and all members of the local community for their unwavering support that has made this all possible."
Dawson Lazdowski, President, Kelleher Park Tenants Council, July 2010
"Thank you and the entire Pennies for Poverty team for all your hard work and for giving so generously."
Lyndsey Haight, Executive Director, Our Neighbor's Table, May 2010
